This Veterans Day 2021, Insight Partners announced support of the US Department of Defense’s SkillBridge Program to our portfolio companies.

In partnership with Shift, our companies can find and onboard active duty service members as apprentices/interns during the final 6 months of their military service, with their full normal pay and benefits provided to them by DoD.

Military personnel brings a wealth of functional and leadership expertise and a diverse set of experience and perspectives. Our high-growth software companies are better with veterans, and our country is too.

At Insight, we’ve been working with active-duty military service members through the Defense Ventures program, a six-week immersion program in VC and portfolio companies.

I remember talking with Will Roper when it was just an idea and was excited to get Insight Partners involved this year. I’ve learned so much by collaborating and working with Insight’s Defense Ventures Fellows (Richard Barnes and Ian Eishen previously, and Dave Kurtz and Eric Lyon now).

Ian, Dave, and Eric headlined a webinar on Veterans Day to share their experiences and stories from serving in the military and working in technology. Their unique perspectives and skillsets emphasize why veterans are valuable employees at any software company.
